Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Facy

Background:
Dr. Facy grew up appreciating the mountains in Utah, but she loves the Colorado side of them even more.
Education:
Dr. Facy received her bachelor’s degree of science from the University of Utah. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Dr. Facy was immediately accepted to the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
During her dental school training Dr. Facy received the prestigious American Association of Dental Research Student Research Fellowship for Disruption of Cytokine Factors in the Dura Mater of Misregulated Msc2 Mice Leads to Boston Type Craniosynostosis. After a successful dental school career Dr. Facy went on to pursue additional training in oral & maxillofacial surgery.
Her surgical training was completed at one of the most prominent training programs in the country at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to her surgical training, Dr. Facy concomitantly obtained her medical degree.
Licensure:
Dr. Facy currently maintains both a dental and medical license in the state of Colorado. In addition she maintains a license in deep sedation and general anesthetic
Specialty Courses:
Dr. Facy has a passion for corrective jaw surgery (also known as Orthognathic Surgery), and has attended many specialty courses regarding the topic, making it an integral part of her practice. In addition to being certified in basic life support, Dr. Facy has advanced training in cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS). She maintains this certification through attending advanced courses both locally and around the world.
Professional Organizations:
Dr. Facy is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) oral and maxillofacial surgeon. She is a member of the Colorado Springs Dental Society and is a member of countless professional organizations. She is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as the Colorado and American Dental Association.
She holds hospital appointments at all four Colorado Springs hospitals: St. Francis, Penrose, Memorial Central and Memorial North (UC Health).
Personal:
She and her husband, Eric, live on the North side of Colorado Springs. Eric is originally from Oslo, Norway, and is of both French and Norwegian descent. Together they enjoy exploring the mountains of Colorado through hiking and skiing. They have also recently discovered running as a way to stay fit. They have one daughter and twin boys that keep them very busy.
Margarita Varer, DDS, MD
Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Varer

Background:
Dr. Varer grew up in Long Island, New York but fell in love with Colorado at first sight. She subsequently moved here in 2020 to join Dr. Facy in practice at CoMax.
Education:
Dr. Varer graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with her Bachelor of Science degree in cell & molecular biology. She then went on to study at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a minor in oral & maxillofacial surgery. Along with high honors Dr. Varer received the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Award and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Horace Wells Award for exceptional interest in anesthesia and pain control.
Dr. Varer then proceeded to complete her 6-year training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also obtained her medical degree.
Licensure:
Dr. Varer is licensed to practice dentistry and perform deep sedation/general anesthesia in Colorado. She also maintains a Colorado medical license.
Specialty Courses:
Dr. Varer is a Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
She keeps current in training and certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She also participates in study club with dentists of various specialties and regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of developments in the field.

Personal:
Dr. Margarita Varer and her husband Jake moved to northern Colorado Springs in 2020. When not in the office treating patients, she can be found hiking the beautiful Colorado parks, gardening, horseback riding, or simply enjoying the company of her husband and son.
